Convention Sessions:
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the "funny man" ( I cannot remember his name). Even though with my cold I could not laugh because I would start coughing. Andy Paul, good grief, that man was funny. BYE FELICIA.
Workshops:
The workshops, honestly were not fun. I don't remember what they were called, but they were not enjoyable with the amount of people in a small room.
Keynote Speakers:
Location of Events:
I liked having it in this area, everything is easy to get to and it has many food choices to go to, and our hotel was pretty much smack in the middle of the area.
Our Hotel:
I really liked our hotel. It was very nice and had good breakfast. I was kind of disappointed in the noise complaints from our chapter, but I hope we get the opportunity to stay in that hotel again.
Transportation:
I really wish we got the time to change before we got on the bus for the ride home.
Additional Comments:
Next year, I hope there is not a dance... That was not fun for one with a major headache... There also seems to be a lot of noise complaints from our chapter. I think the Pinnacle was a good place to have this event also. If we got the chance to wear jeans and a Hampton Chapter tshirt for the last session of the convention, that would be nice also, since I saw a couple chapters do that.
The sessions were very good when they threw in some talent performances. The key note speakers were very good, some were funnier than others, but they all had very interesting FFA experiences and stories that they told. The workshops were okay, but they needed a bigger location to have them in, people kept running into other people. The location of events was good, because they were all very close to the hotel, and you didn't have to walk to far to get there. The hotel, I really liked the hotel a lot more than when we were at the Corn Husker. It was a much nicer hotel, contests were close, and I hope our chapter gets the opportunity to stay in that hotel again. Transportation, I liked how we didn't use the van/bus to drive all over the town like some of the shools did, however, I didn't like having to walk around town when it was raining....

Next year for the dance they need to have it in a bigger area, or have another option for people who don't want to go to the dance. There was also a lot more noise complaints than we had in past years, so we need to resolve that, and also if we could wear like jeans and our FFA chapter shirts and our jackets, then maybe people wouldn't complain as much for having to be in our official dress all 3 days of contest, and sessions. Also they needed to do a better job of keeping people out of the delegates sessions, because they kept having to ask people to leave the arena, because they kept coming in during the delegates sessions.
Convention sessions: As always they got to be pretty long but I enjoyed the talent performances and the funny keynote speaker.
ReplyDeleteWorkshops: Not very effective, too many people in one room.
Keynote speakers: Funny! I love the comedian, he had a good message and he made the speech fun. I also liked the national FFA officer. The other ones dragged on a little bit.
Location of events (Hotels, PBA) I thought that this was a good location, good places to eat around it and we didn't have too far of a walk.
Our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) Loved it, it was very nice.
Transportation: Thought it worked out well.
Additional comments? I think that students should be given access to the hotel rooms. When we had 4 hours of time to kill, it got very boring and we could've had some down time to rest up so we were more attentive during the sessions. I think if everyone is accounted for at the right locations that would make the state convention a lot more enjoyable. We did a very good job being where we were supposed to be and I honestly believe we can continue that for next year.
