Rita has been at her new position for a little over a year. She's worked very hard and put in lots of extra hours to do an excellent job. She wants to make a good impression with Bella and Sydney, the other two people in her department, by sharing the workload and being a team player. Lately when she stops by Bella's desk, she finds her Internet shopping for clothing, researching homes for sale or exploring possible vacations. Rita has also become aware of how much time Bella spends socializing with employees from other departments. As the new person Rita has been so buried with the amount of work Bella and Syndey assign her that she's never noticed this before.
At the department meeting this morning, Sydney announced their department would be responsible for a new project. She would not be able to take it on because she was completely swamped. Bella quickly agreed and suggested Rita should be the one responsible because she is so talented. Rita is already putting in a 50-hour week and does more than her share. What should Rita do?
I think Rita should discuss with Bella and Sydney on how they are unfair workers and although Rita may like helping out, she can not do it all and she needs assistance from them. Sydney also is the one who announced the proposition and should do some work on it. Bella should help out because she is in the same department as Sydney and Rita, therefore she has as much responsibility as the other two. If that does not work, I think Rita should speak with her boss about the problem.
ReplyDeleteI think that Rita should speak with Bella and Sydney about the unfair working and Rita cant do it all she needs help form the other girls. And bella needs to work with them if the are in the same area together they all have responsibilities and need to work like a team to get things done together
ReplyDeleteI think Rita should speak with Bella and Sydney and they should speak that is a team work and she cannot do all by herself and she need help. If they don't want to help her, she should speak with the boss and maybe look for another coworkers.
ReplyDeleteRita needs to talk to the other two girls, and tell them how she feels. She needs to tell them that it is unfair to dump the workload on her. If they disagree, I think Rita needs to talk to someone higher up, and have them talk to the two ladies.
ReplyDeleteI think Rita needs to express to the other girls and how she feels, because she feels really overwhelmed and it is not fair to her that she has to do all of the work. And is she talks to them she will know that they are aware of the situation. If that doesn't solve anything then she will have to talk to someone who will take the situation seriously.
