One of Mara's responsibilities is to keep the supply cabinets stocked at work. She shops for coffee and janitorial supplies and orders office supplies as needed. Kristin needed to restock the paper towels in the ladies' room, so she borrowed Mara's key. At the end of the day, as Mara walked to her car to go home, she remembered she forgot to get the cabinet keys back from Kristin. She realized she would need them early in the morning to set up for a meeting.
She went back inside and found Kristin gathering supplies from the cabinet. She had collected several binders, packages of pens, and mechanical pencils, highlighters and spiral-bound notebooks. When Kristin saw Mara, she was startled. She explained she had been working so late the past week that she was unable to pick up school supplies for her kids, and school was starting tomorrow. Mara didn't know what to say. She knows Kristin works extra hours and doesn't ask for compensation, but does that make it OK to take supplies from work? Mara's employer entrusted her with the keys and made her responsible for supplies. What should Mara do?
I think Mara needs to tell Kristin that she needs to go find a Wal Mart or something for her kid's school supplies. If she takes the supplies from the company then she is the one who is going to be getting into trouble so I think the safest bet is to do that. Hopefully Kristin will understand what situation Mara is in. Mara also should be more careful with who she gives her keys to.
ReplyDeleteI think Mara should tell Kristin that it is not the company's duty to get school supplies for her children. She should have done that on her own. She maybe could take like one or two things, but I think the whole supply list is not okay. Also, Mara should let her boss do make the decision on whether or not Kristin gets into trouble or not.
ReplyDeleteMara should tell Kristin that she should go to another store for supplies. And that mara should ot give her keys to someone. She could get in trouble and should tell kristin that
ReplyDeleteI think Mara should talk to Kristin about taking the supplies and explain why she shouldn't. She should try to tell her to not work as long as she does usually. If she doesn't stop taking supply's then Mara should tell higher boards.
ReplyDeleteI think Mara should talk to Kristin and tell her that she can ask if she can take some stuff for her kids, but then she should give it back. If she is still doing the same, they should give the key to another person.
ReplyDeleteMara should talk with Kristin and make sure that she knows its not okay. Kristin has known when school was to start for a while. She has had plenty of time to get supplies. Kristin should not be able to use the work keys again.
ReplyDeleteMara should tell Kristin and make sure she knows that her actions are not okay for this environment.Kristin knows when school starts, and there is no need for her behavior. She shouldn't be able to use key words again, because honestly she had all of the recourses that she needed.
ReplyDeleteI would let Kristin have some of the supplies to help out her kids but I would make her go to the store and by some of the supplies to. Because the company should not supply their employees with supplies.
