There are about 30,000 goat farmers spread across all of the U.S. Goat Cheese was not actually commercialized in the U.S. until 1980. Residents of the U.S. have discovered the benefits of Goat dairy products and are liking them more and more and switching from cows to goats.

  2. Protecting grain at the elevator: At the begging of 2014, a grain elevator at Pierce had a dramatic financial failure. (more than $4 million). Farmers in Nebraska are devoid of a financial safety net in case of grain elevator insolvency. Nebraska Public Service Commission regulators revoked the operating license of the Pierce elevator when it became apparent the owner no longer had funds to pay expenses,

Big harvest, state fair 'wow': 2014 was a mixed bag for agricultural in Nebraska. There was a good crop, though a number of producers experienced weather problems during the growing season and prices declined from previous record highs. Prices were good, feed costs manageable and the grass crop good, though market deviations made margins tight at times for area cattle feeders.

  3. Officials lure educators to exhibit
Nebraska State Fair, officials are now working to share what the exhibit has to offer year round; therefore, they have an open house to show teachers the value of Nebraska Building field trips. Goat cheese on the rise
There are now 30,000 dairy goat farms across the US and Charuth Van Beuzekom-Loth recently completed the construction of an on-farm Grade A goat dairy facility, one of only five in the state of Nebraska. In the United States, milk and products made from milk, like cheese, have typically came from dairy cows. That’s changing now as consumer demand for goat milk and artisan cheese made from goat milk is on the rise.
