Harmless Request?
Gina Marie was recently hired to work as a receptionist for the front lobby. The company she works for prefers that new hires start at reception and then work their way up. As a receptionist, she is also responsible for making copies for company associates. Her friend Bryson stopped by the office during his lunch break to ask her to make 300 copies for him for a college project. he waited until the last minute to do this and needs them this afternoon. he brought a package of printer paper from home, but she would still be using the company copier and company time to get it done. If Bryson doesn't get the copies, he will fail this project. The company copier does not require a security key, nor do they keep track of the copies made by departments.
What should Gina Marie do?
If she has free time, she could help him out. He brought his own paper, and the company doesn't keep track of the copies made, and doesn't require a security key. She needs to warn him, that she may not get done though. He should have gone out and done this sooner, instead of waiting til the last minute.
ReplyDeleteI still think that it is wrong that he waited until the last minute to do his project, and I don't think that she should print the copies for him, because it is the company copier, and she shouldn't have to print off all of the copies for him, because he should have done it himself. Also it is not the companies job to print out his papers, and he should've done it himself.
ReplyDeleteI think that she should make as many copies as she can, but only do it when her work permits her too. She needs to do her job first, and when she doesn't have to do anything for work, she can then help out her friend. Bryson did bring her printer paper from to get it printed off so he could maybe go somewhere else to get some copies printed, but I think she should help him as much as she can though. As long as her work gets done, I would understand what she is doing, if I had to be in the boss's position.
ReplyDeleteIf there is no reason she can't give her friend Bryson a hand then I think she should. But I too believe that she can only do it when she has absolutely nothing else going on. If the project interferes with work time, then that is an issue. Bryson should not have procrastinated with his project, and he has to understand that it may not all get done as a consequence.
ReplyDeleteI think that she should make the right decision. If she really thinks that Bryson is a good student and this is his first time doing it in the last minute, then she should make the copies. If it isn't his first time then she shouldn't print the copies and tell him that he needs to learn from past experiences and not do it at the last minute.
ReplyDeleteI think that she should make the copies when she has time because she is his friend and he brought his own paper. But only make the copies if she gets it cleared with her boss. Because he should not have waited to finish his project before the last minute.
ReplyDeleteI think that she should make the copies when she has time because he brought his own paper so thats fine. But she should ask her boss first. He really shouldn't have waited til last minute to do it though.
ReplyDeleteShe should ask her boss and make copies when she has time no tat the last minute
ReplyDeleteI think she could help him if she has time but she shouldn't copy the 300 pages if she need to do copy for work. it is a good thing that he brought his own paper but she need to make him understand that it is the only time she will do that.
ReplyDeleteI think she could help him if she has some free time, but I think first she could phone her boss and ask him and then she could make 150 copies and his friend the other 150.
ReplyDeleteBut the most important lesson about that is that we should make things with time and don't wait until the last minute.
if she has time to help him she deficiently should because you should always help people out when your able to. but he should learn to keep track of things and not wait till the last minute to get something finished
